our third year of profitability. All of our vendors and strategic
partners are profitable and stable businesses, too. MindCentric
was a stable company from day one, formed when Rainbow Technology
dissolved Spectria, a provider of e-business solutions. MindCentric
gained Spectria’s customer base and intellectual properties,
giving us a jump start as an independent company. MindCentric
is privately held, self-funded and owner operated. This gives
us the flexibility to make smart decisions and quickly implement
them to help our customers be more profitable and to help
us stay ahead of our competitors.
Why: Today’s Internet
consumers are much more experienced and educated. They understand
the technology and cost. They want a great value with good
service and flexibility. Most of our customers came to us
extremely frustrated. They told us they found low-cost providers
that met their budget, but did not have the services or the
flexibility to meet their needs and grow with them. They found
other providers that would promote low-cost offerings, but
by the time they configured the necessary services, it would
cost hundreds or thousands more than they could afford. Lastly,
they discovered that big-name providers are outrageously priced
and focused on Fortune 1000 companies.
MindCentric
was originally an application development company. As a result
of customer requests, our founder, Mark Vincent, President
and CIO of Web Galaxy, a successful publicly traded hosting
company in the ‘90s, decided to integrate hosting services
into MindCentric. Today, managed
hosting and managed IT services are our core businesses.

have a very experienced team with a depth of knowledge that
becomes an extension of our customers’ internal resources.

We are focused on offering
great services at an affordable price. This is accomplished
by utilizing on-demand infrastructure, industry experience,
automation, and innovative technology. We utilize on-demand
infrastructure so we can expand our capabilities as our customer
base grows. Our team is very experienced and diverse, coming
from the largest service providers in the industry.
With our experience in software
development, we develop many of our own tools, such as our
Advanced Management Systems (AMS), a custom automation support
software. Our support team is focused on specific customer
issues, while our AMS automatically monitors and reacts to
resolve most issues. AMS increases accuracy and logs activity,
eliminating the areas where most of the errors occur in hosting.
AMS also radically reduces the day-to-day human intervention
of repetitive tasks, drastically decreasing cost and improving
quality of service. It increases accuracy and our service
levels because it now takes milliseconds versus hours or days
to perform most tasks. This frees our support team to focus
on issues that need personal attention.
Who: Our team
comes from some of the largest service providers in the industry,
including HP Services, Digex, MCI Managed Services, GTE Internetworking,
Rackspace, Genuity, Dantis Managed Hosting, and Software Spectrum
Outsourcing Services. Our founder, Mark Vincent, has been
an innovator in the Internet industry his entire career, helping
develop business models, proprietary software, and appliances.
Mark was a major contributor in developing a dashboard for
the second largest ISP in the industry. As the President and
CIO of Web Galaxy, a successful publicly traded ISP and hosting
company, Mark was one of the pioneers in the hosting world,
developing many automation tools and portals that are still
in use today. Mark was also the Practice Director of the San
Diego division of Spectria, a division of Rainbow Technologies
(RNDO). Mark and the Spectria team developed many unique web
applications and tools. MindCentric
assumed control of the Spectria customer base and intellectual
properties and now utilizes many of these applications.
Where: Our
headquarters is located in beautiful San Diego. The primary
data center houses the 24x7 Network Operation Center (NOC),
all of our security devices, servers, networking routers,
switches, and SAN equipment. Our secondary data center is
utilized for high availability solutions. Both facilities
have full redundancy from power to multiple ISPs. Multiple
diesel generators can sustain the data centers for 18 hours,
and if more fuel is needed, it is on contract for automatic
refuel. Each generator is started weekly. Multiple UPS systems
are in place to power the DC for over an hour, even though
it only takes a few minutes for the generator to kick in.
The network is Cisco powered, meaning it is 100% Cisco equipment.
The data center sits directly on the Internet backbone (OC-192),
and includes 10 different providers. There are redundant paths
to the backbone, using multiple ISPs. There are also redundant
AC systems and a fire suppression system.
